GLOBAL CONCERNS

                                                           GLOBAL WARMING

Global warming is a critical environmental issue in which the earth's temperature increasing.

CAUSES:-

Global warming is the result of human practices like emission of greenhouse gases. The greenhouse
gases are carbon dioxide, methane, water vapor and other gases. These gases have heat trapping capacity.During past several decades, the accumulation of greenhouse gases have grown rapidly, due to this ,more heat gets trapped in the atmosphere. These gases heat up the earth,s surface and results in global warming.

EFFECTS:-

.1.Melting of polar ice caps.
 2.Melting of glaciers.
 3.Rise in sea levels.
4.Un-natural patterns such as flash floods, excessive snow or desertification.
 5.Droughts,diseases.
6.Global warming can have long lasting effects which can result in climate change.
7.Global warming is a serious public health and environmental concern.

                     NATURAL RESOURCE DEPLETION

Natural resource(such as fossil fuels, forests, water, minerals) depletion is another crucial current environmental issue.

EFFECTS:-

Fossil fuel consumption results in emission of greenhouse gasses.
which is responsible for global warming and climate change.

                              CLIMATE CHANGE

Climate change is yet another environmental problem raised in last couple of decades. Climate change is likely to create a new community called "Climate Refugees" comprising of people who have to  leave their village because of loss of livelihood due to extreme climatic events. In the event of sea-leave rise, the fisher and coastal communities have probable to become Climate Refugees.Weakness of India in the event of climate change is more pronounced due to its ever increasing dependency on agriculture, excessive pressure on natural resources and poor coping mechanisms.

EFFECTS:-

1.Melting of polar ice, change in seasons un-naturally.
2.permanent hang-up in growth of  certain plants essential for human survival.
3.Occurrence of new diseases, frequent occurrence of floods.
4.Climate change is not only changing the overall weather scenario, but has longer and harmful effects.

WATER POLLUTION

  INTRODUCTION TO WATER POLLUTION

Generally speaking water pollution is a state of deviation from the pure condition whereby its normal properties and function are affected. To be more precise water pollution can be defined as "the presence of some foreign substances or impurities in water in such quantity so as to constitute a health hazard by lowering the water quality and making in until for use."Some of the earliest noticeable signs of water pollution.

SOURCES OF WATER POLLUTION

1.Natural sources - natural pollution may be due to aerial contaminants entering the water body
due to rainfall or melting of ice. Decaying of plants animals and organic matter,
leachates from animal excreta will introduce micro-organisms in water.

2.Industrial pollution - Industrial pollution of water will be due to the effluents coming from various
includes such as food and drugs, chemical, energy, etc.Accidental spillage of
chemical during loading and transit; and accidental leakage from industrial
                                     storage tanks,oil refineries etc.

3.Agricultural sources - Agricultural pollution of water will be due to soil and silt washing from
                                       land surfaces,fertilizeres,insecticides,pesticides and weed killers.

4.Mining sources - Mining pollution of water will be due to fines or tailings from ore washing inert
suspended solid, soluble toxic material and acid drainage.

5.Municipal sources - Municipal pollution of water will be due to sewage obtained from domestic
                                    premises,institutions ,commercial and industrial buildings.

CLASSIFICATION OF WATER POLLUTION

1.Organic pollution                        2.Inorganic pollution
3.Radioactive pollution                 4.Suspended solid and sediments
5.Heat

EFFECTS OF WATER POLLUTION

1.Physical effects                            2.Oxidation effects
3.Toxic chemical                            4.Chemical nutrient effects
5.Micro-organism effects               6.Radionuclide effects
7.Eutrophication of lakes

AIR POLLUTION

Introduction to air pollution.

Air pollution is basically the presence of foreign substance in air in excessive concentration which adversely affects the well_being of the individual or causes damage to property.wherever we live the air is contaminated to some degree .the earliest pollutants noted in the atmosphere were of natural origin; like smoke, fumes, ash and gases form volcanoes and forest fires.

SOURCES OF AIR POLLUTION

1,Natural sources  -- natural sources includes wind-blown dust.volcanic eruptions,forest fires,
cosmic dust, pollen grains, sand storms activities etc.
2.Industrial sources -- industry is one of the major sources of air pollution.especially in developing
countries like india. The combustion of fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas
lead to emission of huge quantities of air pollutants into the atmosphere.
3.Domestic sources -- domestic sector also contribute a lot in air pollution.

CLASSIFICATION OF AIR POLLUTION

1.According to origin
on the basic of origin air pollution can be divided into two categories primary and secondary air pollution.

1.primary air pollution
2.secondary air pollution

2.According to chemical composition
3.According to state of matter

TYPES COMMON  OF AIR POLLUTION

1.Carbon monoxide, Oxides of sulphur, Oxides of nitrogn, Hydro carbons and particulates are the five main air pollution that contribute more then 90% of  global air pollution. These air pollution along with other important air pollution are discussed here under in detail with special refernece to their characteristics, sources, sinks and

EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION

In this article we will discuss the effects of air pollution of four major parameters human health,
plants, animals and economics fo the country.

Introduction To Enviroment ?

An "introduction to environment" typically refers to an overview of the natural surroundings, including the living and non-living elements that interact within a specific area or ecosystem. The environment encompasses everything around us, from the air we breathe to the water we drink, the soil we walk on, and the organisms that inhabit these spaces. Understanding the environment is crucial for maintaining ecological balance, human health, and sustainable development.

Here's a brief outline of what an introduction to the environment might cover:

  1. Definition and Scope: Start by defining what "environment" means and discussing its various components, such as the lithosphere (land), hydrosphere (water), atmosphere (air), and biosphere (living organisms).

  2. Interconnectedness: Emphasize the interconnected nature of environmental components and how changes in one part can have ripple effects throughout the entire system. This interconnectedness is often represented by concepts like ecosystems, food webs, and the water cycle.

  3. Natural Resources: Discuss the importance of natural resources, including renewable resources like sunlight, wind, and water, as well as non-renewable resources like fossil fuels and minerals. Emphasize the need for sustainable resource management to ensure their availability for future generations.

  4. Environmental Issues: Introduce key environmental challenges facing the world today, such as climate change, pollution (air, water, soil), deforestation, loss of biodiversity, habitat destruction, and overconsumption of resources. Highlight the impact of these issues on ecosystems, human health, and the economy.

  5. Human Impact: Explore the ways in which human activities, such as industrialization, agriculture, urbanization, and transportation, contribute to environmental degradation. Discuss the concept of ecological footprint and how individual and collective actions can either harm or help the environment.

  6. Environmental Conservation and Sustainability: Introduce strategies and initiatives aimed at protecting the environment and promoting sustainability, including conservation efforts, renewable energy sources, waste reduction and recycling, sustainable agriculture, and green technology innovations.

  7. Global Cooperation: Highlight the importance of international cooperation and policy frameworks, such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Paris Agreement on climate change, and regional environmental treaties, in addressing global environmental challenges.

  8. Personal Responsibility: Encourage students to take personal responsibility for their environmental impact by making conscious choices in their daily lives, such as reducing energy consumption, conserving water, minimizing waste, and supporting eco-friendly practices.

Overall, an introduction to the environment should provide a comprehensive overview of the interconnectedness of natural systems, the importance of environmental conservation, and the role that individuals and societies play in shaping the future of our planet.
